Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire K/C

Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire K/C

Officer's silver, gilt and enamel helmet plate with 3 loops to reverse. Although full dress went in 1914, this is a helmet plate of a regiment formed in 1919 by the amalgamation of the Beds. and Herts. There is a period addition to the scroll which reads 'The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regt.' I think this was done unofficially by an officer for the parade at the forming of the regiment. A lovely helmet plate and a research piece
